Join the SC Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and the SC Schools Network for the 2023-24 Connecting Communities and Schools webinar series. The series aims to enhance collaboration between schools and communities using the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model. The WSCC model is student-centered and emphasizes the role of the community in supporting the school, the connections between health and academic achievement and the importance of evidence-based school policies and practices.

This month’s Connecting Communities & Schools webinar address the WSCC model component: Counseling, psychological and social services.

Join us for an insightful session led by Shantal Saldaña, Manager of School Outreach at Erika’s Lighthouse, who leverages her expertise in youth mental health to empower and educate school professionals, students, and families. This webinar will introduce a variety of no-cost mental health education programs that can be seamlessly implemented in schools and organizations to promote mental health literacy, depression education, and suicide prevention. We will review classroom education, family engagement, empowerment clubs, and staff development.
