Rep. Marvin Pendarvis
SC State House of Representatives
Representative Marvin Pendarvis represents Charleston County (District 113) in the South Carolina State House of Representatives. A native of the Charleston Farms neighborhood in North Charleston and a product of public schools, Rep. Pendarvis understands the importance of education and opportunity in communities.
He is a 2011 honors graduate of the University of South Carolina. Rep. Pendarvis’ commitment to advocacy led him to the University of South Carolina School of Law and graduated in 2014. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar the same year and returned back to North Charleston where he is currently practicing law in Personal Injury and Criminal Defense.
Rep. Pendarvis understands the importance of maintaining an active and caring presence in his community. He holds memberships in the following: Garrett Academy of Technology School; Improvement Council; North Charleston Civil Coalition for Reform; Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; South Carolina Black Lawyers Association; American Bar Association; National Bar Association; South Carolina Bar Association; Charleston County Bar Association; Thurgood Marshall Legal Society; Lowcountry Alliance of Model Communities; North Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals; Teacher’s Supply Closet; and Black Expo Advisory Board.
Since his election to the SC House of Representatives in 2017, Rep. Pendarvis has been a fierce advocate for Education, Affordable Housing, and Economic Empowerment. In a short period of time, he has become a vocal leader on many key issues and has shown an ability to develop key relationships that aid him in pushing his platform and the people’s agenda.
