May 2-3, 2023

Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center | Columbia, SC

Do you want to truly collaborate, communicate, and align your work to inspire wellness in all communities? Join us at The Wholespire Collaborative, May 2-3, to gather and grow your knowledge about how you can align your healthy eating and active living (HEAL) strategies with others around the state to achieve a common goal – to reduce obesity and chronic disease. Better health outcomes can be achieved when we leverage the resources that we have and align our work with active initiatives in the state.

Our interactive event is designed to help you start or strengthen your network of key players from around the state who can inspire new thinking, new ideas and new ways to influence decision-makers to put HEAL strategies in place that community members can take advantage of to lead healthier lives.

When you participate in our topic-specific collaborative workshops, you will hear from the state’s leaders in each topic area. You will be challenged to think about how your community can uniquely align with the momentum in our state around different strategies like physical activity in schools and trail expansion. General sessions will feature expert speakers and panelists, spotlights on communities around the state, and they will get you thinking about what you can do differently in your community or organization.

We’ll also have advocacy opportunities since the SC State House is only two blocks away from the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Plus, there will be exhibitors, networking time and physical activity breaks. Our agenda is packed with interactive, energizing, and thought-provoking activities!

Collaborative Workshops

Collaborative workshops reduce the amount of speaker time and increase your learning opportunities through hands-on action and collaboration with others in the workshop. Our workshops will focus on:

  1. Improve Outdoor Environments in Early Care and Education
  2. Prioritize Physical Activity in Schools
  3. Promote Trail Connectivity
  4. Expand Awareness of WIC
  5. Increase Senior Enrollment in SNAP
  6. Increase Access to Healthy Food

Our collaborative workshops will give you direct insight into each of these strategies and help you determine:

  • Do I want to implement this in my community?
  • Will this address health disparities and health equity?
  • How do I make this happen in my community?

Our speakers will tell you about their partnership at the state level and how, together, they are moving the needle toward a collective impact that even the most skeptical person won’t believe. They will give you the tools to help determine if you want to implement this same strategy in your community and how to make it happen.
