Our mission drives our work.

We promise to support grassroots initiatives that,  collaboratively, will change the makeup of South Carolina and beyond—for the better.

Who We Are

Wholespire is the state’s leading advocate, educator, and supporter for ensuring all communities have access to healthy choices by providing policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) change leadership across the state.

Our Mission

We provide communities with proven and sustainable approaches that lead to increased access to healthy choices for all people.

How We Work

We promote healthy eating and active living as a key component of public health. We inform, engage and influence decision-makers to include health in policy decisions. We provide support at the local level for communities to achieve healthy change. We champion equality.

We value diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Wholespire continuously addresses diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organizational processes and practices.

We’ve created an open environment where staff can feel comfortable raising DEI concerns. In fact, staff participates in evaluating our progress towards:

  • Incorporating racial equity our organizational practice,
  • Promoting DEI among local Wholespire chapters,
  • Ensuring health disparate populations have increased access to options for healthy eating and active living, and
  • Using correct and accurate metrics to demonstrate our progress.

Our values guide our success.
